As the title of this chapter already implies it is all about unity, togetherness and with that also humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Humanity: an eight-letter word with so much meaning behind it. According to the Oxford Dictionary humanity is \u201cunderstanding and kindness towards other people\u201d and \u201cthe condition of being human\u201d.  The science behind humanity, “humanism” has its beginnings in the 18th century, where philosophers were concerned with the questions of what constitutes a human being and how human beings should be. Since 1948 there has been the \u201cUniversal declaration of Human Rights\u201d written by the United Nations, that declares, that \u201cAll human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sounds simple and reasonable, but especially in times of a global pandemic, wars and fights for democracy in a lot of states around the globe, humanity still seems a long way away. To remind you of the little things, that humanity can also be, we started a little survey in our course, asking about the students for their very own definition of humanity and how they practise it in their everyday life. Read some of the answers below and be inspired to be the best version of yourself that you can possibly be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
